Training and education opportunities are at the core of the
Cumberland County Business Council's mission to create wealth, jobs,
and investment.
Much of Chamber's training and education opportunities are offered through the Small Business Council.
These opportunities range from marketing and networking, to financial
management, security, legal issues, sales, customer service and human
resources.
Because the Chamber is unable to cover every topic, we have partnered
with other business resources such as the FTCC Small Business Center,
and the Small Business and Technology Development Center to communicate
other training and education opportunities.
The Chamber recognizes that laws are constantly changing and that many
business owners do not have the time to keep abreast of those changes.
Below you will find current information and resources important to
small business owners.

Lunch and Learn
Lunch and Learn is a very professional learning environment where small
business owners and entrepreneurs have the opportunity to enhance their
business. The Chambers goal is to find ways to assist you with
financial gain, tax benefits, feasible healthcare programs and
governmental programs that will benefit your business. Your chamber
will host these seminars on a bimonthly basis. The topics will cover
areas of need and interest. Some of the upcoming topics are as follows:
public speaking, legislative and small business, credit building and
renewing the art of what is truly entrepreneurship.
Meeting of the Minds
The meeting of the minds will be implemented in August. This program
will give business owners the ability to come together to share
business ideals, best practices, success stories and the chance to
offer mentoring to new business owners in and around the Fayetteville
area. Here you will have the opportunity to share your area of
expertise and explain the benefits of your daily operations to your
neighboring businesses. The meeting of the minds will be held once a
quarter.
Meet the purchaser
One of the main reasons that businesses join their local chamber is to
take advantage of the networking opportunities. Networking helps to
build and secure relationships. Meet the purchaser is designed to
Chamber members to meet with purchasing agents from large companies and
governmental agencies to learn about the buying strategies and their
bidding and purchasing process. Meet the purchaser is an extremely
effective marketing and direct sales avenue for business owners. Meet
the purchaser will begin in September of 2008.
