Small Business Award
The Fayetteville-Cumberland County Chamber of Commerce is now accepting nominations for the Small Business Award. This award recognizes small business owners whose practices exemplify the mission of the Chamber and serve as role models for others who own small businesses or wish to pursue a similar career path.
The Chamber will follow the Small Business Administration's guidelines in defining a small business. A small business will be selected out of the nomination pool every quarter. At the end of the year, a committee will select one of the four small business award recipients to be the Small Business of the Year Award winner. The committee will be made up of small business representatives from the industrial, financial and retail sectors, among others.
Nominees must:
- Be located within Cumberland County.
- Be a Chamber member in good standing for at least one year.
- Be a for-profit entity.
- Have been in business for at least three years.
Criteria for the winning selection will include staying power; evidence of success; innovation of product or service offered; response to adversity; and evidence of contributions to community-oriented or civic projects. Winners will receive an award packet including recognition at Chamber event (Coffee Club), recognition via Chamber press release and publication in Chamber media, suitable award for display, and nomination for Small Business of the Year (given at Annual Dinner.)
